    Introduction: Northern part of the Macao Peninsula

    The hill reaches a height of 60,7 metres and presents a form similar to a Lotus flower, reason why the hill is also known as Lotus Hill. At the bottom of the hillside, towards the South, is located Mong-Ha village, reason why the area is also popularly known as Mong-Ha Hill. At the top of the hill one finds Mong-Ha Fortress, where there used to exist barracks for the use of Portuguese soldiers of African origin. Nowadays, the fortress is demilitarized.
