Deadline for Registration of “Cultural Heritage Young Journalist Summer Course” Postponed to June 18

The “Cultural Heritage Young Journalist Summer Course” has generated great response. Since there is a strong request for a longer registration period, the Cultural Institute has decided to postpone the registration deadline to June 18.

Recently, the Institute received many enquiries about the course. Since many schools are having final examinations this week, the Institute will postpone the deadline for a week to provide the students with more time to write the application essay.

This course is aimed at improving the students’ knowledge in cultural heritage conservation. Through participating in different activities, the students will help to disseminate correct ideas of cultural heritage preservation inside their schools.

The course is organized for senior secondary school students and will take place every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon between July 10 and August 1 in the Macao Polytechnic Institute. Other than indoor teaching, the students will also be able to join Cultural Heritage Tours and a photo-taking lesson. They will also be able to visit local and foreign press. Moreover, there will also be a simulated press conference and a two-day internship. The students’ reports will be printed and distributed to schools and associations in Macao after the course is finished.

Students interested in joining the course should submit, through fax, mail or personally, an application form together with a five-hundred word description for “The importance of Cultural Heritage Preservation” to the Cultural Institute head office (Praceta do Miramar, no. 87-U, San On Building, ground floor).

The regulations and application forms of the two activities are now available in the Cultural Institute’s main office, Macao Central Library, Macao Conservatory, Tap Seac Gallery and in Macao’s major bookstores. They are also available for download in the Institute’s website: Any queries, please telephone 335141, fax to 705820, or e-mail
