Cultural civil servants from Canton and Hong Kong visit Macao’s monuments

About 12 heads of the cultural departments of Shenzhen, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Shunde and Hong Kong that are in Macao to take part in the II Conference on Cultural and Artistic Cooperation in the Pearl River Delta Region, have visited some of the historical monuments that are candidates for a world heritage site – the Saint Joseph’s Seminary, the D. Pedro V Theatre, Santo Agostinho Church, the Guia Lighthouse and Chapel, the Museum of Macao, Mount Fortress and the St. Paul’s Ruins, as well as many others.

The visit was organised by Young Ambassadors of the Heritage of Macao, founded by the Cultural Institute last year. The Church of St. Joseph’s Seminary, the Guia Lighthouse and the St. Paul’s Ruins were the monuments that raised most interest.

The Director of the Museum of Macao accompanied the group during its visit to the Museum and to the Exhibition on the Flag, Insignia and National Anthem of the People’s Republic of China.
