Cultural Affairs Bureau selects companies from the Database for Macao Cultural and Creative Industries to be present at the Mandarin House Cultural Relics Info Center and Gift Shop

    17/06/2015

Since its opening in February 2010 as a Macao World Heritage site, the Mandarin House has attracted a great number of visitors, tourists and local residents alike. To enhance public interest and in a bid to maximize this renowned cultural attraction as a window for local creativity and designs, the Cultural Affairs Bureau (CAB) has established the Mandarin House Cultural Relics Info Center and Gift Shop, to market not only publications written by or themed on renowned Chinese philosopher Zheng Guanying, but also Mandarin House-inspired souvenirs, publications and design items by the CAB, and products on consignment of Macao’s cultural and creative brands.

Based on the Database for Macao Cultural and Creative Industries, the CAB is planning to select companies to present themselves at the shop or sell there, their own creative branded products on consignment. The call for entries is open to all Macao cultural and creative companies supplying original “Made in Macau products”, be it design items, anime and comic products, or audio and visual products as well as printed materials. The selection criteria includes originality, industrial and market potential, brand image quality, capacity for sustainable development or R&D (Research and Development) and relevance to the Mandarin House theme. The selection will be made upon a comprehensive evaluation of all these factors. The Gift Shop aims to create an extra window and sales platform for local cultural and creative industries, thus publicizing and supporting the development of cultural and creative products with Macau features. The application deadline for selection entries is November 28, 2013.

Companies not yet listed on the Database are advised to first submit application for inclusion. Application forms for inclusion in the Database for Macao Cultural and Creative Industries can be downloaded from www.icm.gov.mo/dpicc or www.macaucci.com.

Interested parties should submit the completed form in print, along with the supporting electronic file and attachments, to Praça do Tap Seac, Edif. do Instituto Cultural, Macao or Department for the Promotion of Cultural and Creative Industries (address: Av. da Praia Grande Nº 567, Edif. BNU, 12 andar A-D, Macao). Companies already listed on the Database for Macao Cultural and Creative Industries need not re-apply but may submit any supplements or updates by November 28, 2013.
