MM027-Nam San Temple, Pao Kong Temple, I Leng Temple and Loi Tsou Temple

Location: Macau

Address: Rua da Figueira

When this temple was built in 1889, a plague broke out in Macao and the residents brought the statue of Pao Kong (a historical character) from Foshan in Guangdong province for protection. Later, after the plague subsided, the residents believed that Pao Kong had suppressed evil and built Pao Kong Temple in his honour. To the right of Pao Kong Temple is Nam San Temple, built in 1895 to worship Zhong Kui (God who eliminates devils). To the left are Loi Tsou Temple and I Leng Temple, which were built in 1891 and 1895 respectively.
