MM021-Hong Chan Kuan Temple (Bazaar Temple)

Legend has it that the residents found a wooden statue of Marshal Hong Gong floating near the shore where the temple now stands, so they built a shrine to worship him. Later, a temple was constructed in 1860 and is also dedicated to the God Hung Seng, the Monkey King, Buddha and Hua Tuo (God of Medicine).

Architectural characteristics:
The temple displays southern Chinese architectural characteristics. A courtyard is designed to unite the main elements of the temple and on the roof there are coloured pottery sculptures for decoration.
