The Inventory of Intangible Cultural Heritage

According to article 72 of the Cultural Heritage Protection Law, the preparation and the updating of the Inventory is the principal basis for the safeguarding of intangible cultural heritage. In accordance with article 77, the preparation of the Inventory is a responsibility that belongs to IC. In order to protect Macao's intangible cultural heritage and identify the items to be protected, IC prepared the Inventory for the first time in 2017, with 15 items being registered on the Inventory. After that, with continuous surveys and research studies, IC updated the Inventory in June 2020, adding 55 items.
