SM010-Montanha Russa Garden

Location: Macau
Category: Sites
Designation: Ma Kau Seac Park, Spiral Park

This garden is located in the North-eastern area of the peninsula, at the top of a small hillside, between Mong-Ha Hill and D. Maria II Hill.

The garden was constructed at the end of the 19th century, for the installation of a small municipal park, populated by many trees and vegetation, presenting a classic layout design, of romantic style, with a spiral form, where a simple walking route ascends to the top. The name of the garden, both in Chinese and in Portuguese, refers to the topography of the site. The statue located at this site presents an image of the Bishop D. José da Costa Nunes, who was beatified in 1934.
