Location: Coloane
Category: Ensembles

Largo Eduardo Marques is the square in front of the St. Francis Xavier Church. It was named after Eduardo Augusto Marques, a Macao governor in the early 20th century. The square is paved in Portuguese cobbles, with alternate black and white waves and has a fountain enclosed by iron bars at its centre. A monument commemorating victory against pirates stands at the centre of the fountain facing the church. On either side of the square there are arcades shadingChinese and Portuguese restaurants. Rua dos Negociantes is a traditional street in Coloane where residents can buy food and groceries. Largo do Presidente Ramalho Eanes is now a roundabout with flowerbeds and benches.
