The original building of BNU (Banco Nacional Ultramarino) was constructed in 1926. In 1997, the original building was converted by a modern high-rise movement and expansion. Nevertheless the original external façade and colonnades were preserved throughout the process.
Architectural characteristics:
The original building was constructed with a southern European style. After its reconstruction, the building reflects a coexistence of new and old styles and is a good example of façade preservation in Macao.
